Local Weather
Since almost all of Sussex County is a part of Atlantic Coast, the effects of the ocean moderate our climate. Compared to northern Delaware, temperatures in Sussex County are about 10 degrees warmer in winter and 10 degrees cooler in summer. The win-ter climate is a mix between the cold of the Northeast and the mild weather of the South. Summer weather is generally warm and humid, however, our nights are usually quite comfortable.
Delaware's all time record high of 110 °F (43 °C) was recorded at Millsboro on July 21, 1930; the all time record low of −17 °F (−27 °C) was also recorded at Millsboro on January 17, 1893. Below are some resources and live webcams for current weather condi-tions and forecasts.
